Winter Projects, Marina Berths & Boating Safety Tips

TMP Boatyard

Hi everyone,

Winter might have officially arrived, but the weather hasn’t been following the normal script. We’ve had some surprisingly good conditions over the past month, and plenty of boaties have been making the most of it.

(Even a few foggy mornings haven't slowed us down!)

It means that the last few months have been among the busiest periods we've seen in the TMP boatyard for quite some time. There’s been a steady flow of haulouts, maintenance projects, and upgrades underway - with owners using this time to get ahead of the game before spring and summer roll around again.

One thing that’s been particularly popular is our undercover work areas. Whether it’s painting, structural repairs, refits, or longer-term projects, having protection from the weather can make all the difference.

In this month's update, we take a look at our undercover boatyard facilities, share an important boating safety reminder from Powerboat Training NZ, and catch up with Nathan from Marine Sign, who recently completed a major project at TMP.

As always, if you need a hand with anything around the marina or boatyard, just give the team a shout.

See you around the yard,

– Martin and the Tamaki Marine Park Team

Work in any Weather! TMP Covered Sheds

One of the biggest advantages of working on your boat at TMP during winter is having options when the weather doesn't play ball. (Yes we’ve had a good run, but you know it’s coming).

The TMP Boatyard Options:

  • Two large covered sheds

  • 840m² of canopied undercover boatyard space

  • 10.5m clearance for larger vessels

Whether you're spray painting, carrying out structural repairs, tackling a major refit, or simply need a reliable space for a longer-term project, our undercover facilities help keep work moving rain, hail or shine.

Head down, bum up!

Our service operators have been getting through a ton of work the last few months…here are a few snippets of the boys rolling up their sleeves.

Always a job well done.

Nathan Walesby from Marinesign talks through his latest project Te Aria, and why he has full confidence in Tamaki Marine Park and our resident marine service professionals.
