Happy New Year from the TMP Team!

Hello friends,

We hope your summer’s off to a great start! At Tamaki Marine Park it’s all go - everyone is back on board, we’re into the swing of things and looking forward to another big year ahead.

We’ve got some handy tips in this month’s update, from updated summer hours to a fresh PredictWind weather feed, plus a look ahead to SailGP’s return to Auckland.

And of course, a reminder that if you’re over boat ramp chaos, the TMP drystack is still the easiest way to get your boat in (and out) without the drama.

TMP Summer Hours

We’re open right through summer to help you get the most out of the season. From the 2nd of January onwards, we’ll be open 7.30am – 5pm, 7 days a week.

The Drystack will be operating normally with standard opening hours 7:30am - 4:30pm. Last Launch being 4pm.

Real-Time Forecasts On Our Website

Planning a run out into the Gulf, or just wondering whether that sea breeze will kick up? You can view wind speed and direction updates thanks to the live PredictWind weather station, which sits on the Tamaki Marine Park Home Page. It updates every minute, so you’ll always have the latest info before you hit the water. (It actually forecasts wind, rain, air temp, cloud and swell 10 days out - so yes, a very handy tool).

SailGP Returns to Auckland: 14–15 February

The world’s fastest foiling catamarans are heading back to the Waitemata! The ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix hits Auckland 14–15 Feb, and it’s shaping up to be even bigger and better than ever.

Expect adrenaline-fuelled action as Peter Burling and Blair Tuke’s Black Foils take on the world’s top teams at insane speeds, all in full view from the newly expanded Wynyard Point Race Stadium.

Note: if you’re visiting from out-of-town (with your boat), and need services or assistance from the TMP team or our service providers - please feel free to reach out.

Escape Summer Boat Ramp Mayhem!

If you’ve ever lined up at a public ramp in January with kids in tow, a melting ice bin, and a tide that’s not waiting? Yes… not our idea of a relaxing day on the water either. With the TMP Drystack, you skip the queue. Just call or text ahead and we’ll have your boat in the water, ready to go, so you can cruise up the Tamaki River and out into the harbour in peace, not stress.
