On the Water at Tamaki Marine Park
Hi everyone,
As we go to press, it’s been a pretty wild run of weather, especially along the East Coast - not exactly the conditions you’d be planning a day out around. Having said that, don’t pack it in just yet! We all know how quickly things can turn this time of year, and there are still some great days to be had on the water.
Around the yard, things have been ticking along nicely, with plenty of boats coming and going between weather windows. And if you are starting to think about winding things down for the season, now’s a good time to get on top of a few of those maintenance jobs before winter really settles in.
We’ve got a few useful bits in this month’s update, including a reminder about the great work Coastguard does (and why it’s worth being a member), some drystack insights from one of our long-time customers, and a few practical tips if you’re putting your boat away for a while.
As always, if you need a hand with anything, just give the team a call.
See you around the marina,

Coastguard NZ: Support Those Who’ve Got Your Back
If you spend any time out on the water, chances are you’ve seen or heard from Coastguard NZ, and hopefully never needed them in a serious way.
They do an incredible job keeping boaties safe, with local crews on call 24/7, ready to assist when things don’t go to plan. And the reality is, breakdowns and issues can happen to anyone.
One of the best ways to support them (and look after yourself) is by becoming a member.
As a member, you get:
Free non-urgent on-water assistance
Local knowledge from crews who know your patch
Member-only partner discounts
Discounts on boating courses
Regular tips, updates, and safety info
And most importantly, peace of mind for you, family and friends
Drystack – From Pukekohe to the Gulf!
We caught up with Stafford, one of our long-time drystack customers based in Pukekohe, who shares why our drystack setup works so well for his boating lifestyle.
Don’t Forget To Winterise Your Toilet
If you’re starting to think about putting the boat away for a bit, now’s the time to get a few key things sorted - especially the ones that can cause (major) headaches later.
One that often gets overlooked? Winterising your onboard toilet system.
A bit of prep now can save you from blockages, smells, or damage when you come back to the boat later. Flushing, cleaning, and making sure everything is properly drained and treated makes a big difference.
If you’re not sure where to start, have a chat with the team at Aquaplumb.
